ISSUES: Monica reported that we went

- The
local missions line item was discussed.
There was discussion that some women would prefer to give money to their
individual circles for local missions and aren’t giving to the UMW board as a
whole. This causes overlap and keeps us
from meeting our budget. Nancy Doty said
that the UMW is set up for one treasurer, and not for individual treasurers for
each circle. However, our church didn’t
make this change when UMW make the change.
The board discussed whether there should be only one treasurer on the
board that all money funnels through, or continue with individual treasurers
from each circle. It was noted that
members of individual circles hesitate to give to the UMW as a whole because
they don’t feel that they know where their money is going. No action was taken.
