Agenda
1. Call to order, welcome, read purpose;
a. Vicky called meeting to order and read purpose
2. Sunshine report (Carol Finn)
a. Encouragement-Freda Lovett, Kendra Schwepker, Thinking of You-Ruth Ann & Bill McLemore, Get Well- John Winter, Ella Mae Collister, Ray Broach, Grover Burkett, Jean Smith, Carolyn Guthrie(5/3&6/4), Bill Koenecke, Faye Beyer, Jana Hughes, Sympathy-Larry Daniel, Lauren, Amber Meadows, Bill

a. Minutes approved by Paula Hulick, second by Pat Harris
7. Treasurer's report - Monica Bogle, approval
a. Monica reported a balance on hand of $4,308.16. 2012 totals for Prayer and Self Denial - $138, Candle Burning collected $1550 and $1655 disbursed which included our board’s contribution for each outstanding UMW woman, and layette balance of $1030.92. Approved Pat Harris, seconded Kay Gupton
8. Program resource Secretary - Carol Wimberley
a. Carol absent, Vicky reminded everyone reading program info needs in by Aug. 1
9. 60 second Reading Program Book review
a. Monica gave a quick review of Beaded Hope-quick easy read of 3 women who went on a mission trip to Africa that changed their lives and helped them with whatever struggle they were in

Spoke with Rick, moving along with our opinions heard

Jan Nutter has accepted position of Education and Outreach

4. Candle Burning- Monica, Carol, Paula, Donna
Conference is no longer provided cards to send to recipients, decided to send to non-members this
year, will add a note on giving sheet next year on whether giver wants one sent or not
5. Prayer and Self Denial General Meeting: Thanks to Effie for program and for Tucker Frost for hosting.
6. Spiritual Growth Retreats - Did anyone attend?
Jackie attended and said there were speakers from Ukraine
On Going Business:

2. Box Tops for Education and Labels for Education
3. Women's Celebration (Baby Shower for Layettes) June 13th 6:30 p.m.
Pot luck in CLC gym. Dessert provided, children welcome, but no child care
Do not wrap layette gifts, Friendship Hannah and Ruth Wilson decorate, Joe Pat and Eric will
have tables up and ready, Vicky will purchase and have decorations ready (simple) Tucker Frost and Wesleyan clean up. Joe Pat and Eric will put away tables and chairs. Holly Bloodworth will sing, games, prizes.
Discussed making some preemie layettes
4. We host District Meeting on August 11th. 9:30 - ? MOR Breakfast by Friendship Hannah and Tucker Frost, Lunch by Ruth Wilson and Wesleyan.
5. Committee for Outstanding Youth will meet as soon as Amanda is back from mission trips.
6. Movie - Iron Jawed Angels -September 19th Vicky
New Business:
CMEE July 12-14 at Brownsville. Is anyone attending? Vicky has applications.
Jackie, Pat, and Carol Wimberley attending
Bears, Blankets, and Books was discussed. Project started by Mayda Ragsdale to provide comfort items for displaced children. Decided that each circle can make their own decision on helping with project.
UMW board will act as backup for meals for Wesley Foundation at Murray State.
Reelfoot food pantry is empty. Voted to send $100; Paula made a motion and Carol Finn approved.
Upcoming Business:
June 23rd District Day Apart at Flatwoods in Camden 10:00. We will carpool from back of Church leaving at 8:45.
August 7th Next Executive Board Meeting with Kay or other date.
August 11 District Meeting MOR at Murray First
August 13 Layette Assembled by Ruth Wilson Circle
